Mina (Wilhelmina) Murray, later Mina Harker, is heroine of the movie Bram Stoker´s Dracula (1992). Unlike her counterpart in Stoker´s novel, she is a reincarnated Romanian princess Elisabeta, Dracula´s bride, and his willing helper. She was played by Winona Ryder.
Mina is stunningly beautiful young woman in her early twenties. She is petite, with rich complexion and long black hair which she often keeps combed up in fashion of 1897 England. Her clothes are very beautiful but out-of-date (she is a schoolmistress and her clothes may be second hand shop or gifts by her wealthy friend, Lucy). When she meets Dracula, her blue and green dresses with leaf motif are replaced by ornate red dress, like a full blown rose, and a gown and cape of a Medieval princess.
Mina begins as repressed young woman who peeks a pornographic pictures (the book in question is translation of Arabian nights by Sir Richard Burton, Victorian explorer and writer). When she meets Dracula, she starts to remember her past, and although torn, she wants to be Dracula´s consort. She lets Dracula to bit her and drinks willingly his blood (in the novel blood-drinking made telepathic connection between Dracula and Mina, here it was needed to create a vampire.) In the end she kills mortally wounded Dracula by pushing the sword through his heart and decapitating him, releasing his soul..
